Reading For Kids

Shelterwood Books and Teacher Resources is the home site for the beginning phonics program, Reading For Kids (and Adults!).

Reading For Kids (and Adults!) breaks the process of learning to read down into small, manageable parts. It is packed full of reproducible phonics worksheets and comes with reproducible flashcards and alphabet tiles. By following the clear, simple instructions, you will be directed step by step in teaching someone to read.

It is designed for anyone to use. If you can speak English and read this paragraph, you have all the skills necessary to use this book.

Ideal for parents, teachers, tutors, community volunteers, librarians and neighbors to use to help someone learn to read or to help improve reading skills.

We are constantly looking for new ways to connect science and literature for children. Since there are already a lot of resources available for the early elementary grades, our focus is on upper elementary and middle school.
