Preschool Activities

Structured preschool activities are important but again, let me say, there is nothing you can do to benefit your child more than spending quality time with her.

Being held, touched, walking hand in hand, a meaningful (to the child) conversation and sang or read to, are all important ways in promoting a child's healthy development. These activities stimulate the limbic system and thus increase a child's sense of well being and emotional stability. Exposing your child early to a wide variety of experiences is the best way to prepare her for formal learning. And, as a literacy advocate I have to put my two cents worth in here, reading to a child is the single most important thing you can do for a child of this age to ensure successful academic achievement in the later years.

Here are some ideas to help provide your child with meaningful preschool and kindergarten activities:

Preschool Crafts has some craft projects our kids enjoyed when they were young.

The Moore Homeschooling Website has some great free family activities for preschoolers. Fun Family Activities

Children learn best through play. At Holly's-Preschool-Place you will find ideas for learning centers, crafts, and lesson plans. These hands-on activities help your preschooler explore their environment while they acquire learning skills that set the foundation for future learning.
