Preschool Activities
Structured preschool activities are important but again, let me say, there is nothing you can do to benefit your child more than spending quality time with her.
Being held, touched, walking hand in hand, a meaningful (to the child) conversation and sang or read to, are all important ways in promoting a child's healthy development. These activities stimulate the
limbic system
and thus increase a child's sense of well being and emotional stability. Exposing your child early to a wide variety of experiences is the best way to prepare her for formal learning. And, as a literacy advocate I have to put my two cents worth in here, reading to a child is the single most important thing you can do for a child of this age to ensure successful academic achievement in the later years. Here are some ideas to help provide your child with meaningful preschool and kindergarten activities:
